Hotel Workers will make or break the success of each and every Hotel. Maintaining consistent rules, having clear and simple expectations and a sincere desire to help their Guests enjoy their stay will make every single Guests’ stay more employable. Respect. The most important Hotel Employee attribute is respect; respect for their fellow employees, their Hotel’s Guests and their Hotel. If an Employee lacks respect, they will soon end up getting a bad reputation amongst those that they deal with.

Clear expectations. An effective Hotel Employee is clear in their expectations of their Hotel Work. Being concise about workplace expectations and rules gives employees the tools they need to be successful workers.

Consistency. Hotel Employees are in charge of their own work delivery. Not everybody is sufficiently skilled to keep everyone happy 100% of the time. Hotel Employees must practice consistency. A consistent Hotel Employee knows how to achieve success where they work.

Personal goal setting. Effective people have a goal setting system that defines and recognises their own successes. Short-term and long-term goals reinforce an employee’s own strong work habits.

Communicate. Good Hotel Employees know the importance of good communication. Frequent and regular communications with everybody who it is important to – makes all the difference. You must also understand what is needed for the Hotel Operations to run smoothly.

Encouragement. As a Hotel Employee, be encouraging to your colleagues, your Guests and your Manager to ensure the Hotel’s best performance. Firm, respectful, but encouraging Hotel Employees will create Hotel Teams that are motivated and efficient.
